Yes, I really do have this many XIV OCs. No, I'm not sorry. Yes, there will probably be more!Feel free to ask me about any of them at my tumblr, which is linked at the bottom! CHILDHOOD

Erketu Qerel was once a well loved young Xaela. Their mother cared them deeply, and their clan adored them too. Their differences were accounted for and treasured as a gift from Nhaama.
As Adya grew, they learned to communicate in the best way for them. Repeating back the last word or sound they heard, and miming more difficult concepts. Unbeknownst to them and their tribe, the reason the other Qerel were so capable of understanding them was due to young Erketu's Echo. It expanded outwards, allowing those that care for Erketu, that they care for in turn, to understand the true message of what they were trying to communicate, regardless of the sounds or words they were using at that point.Growing as one of the Qerel, Erketu learned to fight, with hope of competing in the Nadaam one day. For the longest time, it appeared that despite their size and their strength, Erketu hadn't inherited the Will of Karash.
It would soon come to light, however, that the Will of Karash was theirs.During a training skirmish, helping people prepare for the Nadaam, Erketu lost themself to their Will. They have no memory of the incident, but when they awoke, back at their tent, they were informed that many of their friends, along with their mother, had perished during the skirmish.
It was unclear whether Erketu had caused the deaths themself, or if it had been other Xaela, seeing Erketu strike to kill and taking the chance to do the same. But regardless of the truth, Erketu blamed themself entirely.Once they'd healed enough to travel, Erketu left their tribe, and the Steppe, and took off into the world, hoping to find somewhere where they could learn to control their Will.

Limsa Lominsa

Taking the name Adya, not wanting to use the name their mother gave them, the young Xaela took to the seas, managing to gain passage aboard a ship bound for Limsa Lominsa.
They hadn't originally planned on staying in the port city, but during their journey they were told of the Marauders Guild, and believed they might be able to offer some aid in control, given their similar fighting style. They were accepted into the guild, and it quickly became a symbol of good luck for members for them to be assigned a mime for their name by Adya.As they gained some distance from their past, and ingratiated themself further with the Marauders Guild, Adya was given more and more responsibilities, including a trip out of Limsa that resulted in them returning to the city via the same ship as the Leveilleur twins.

A Realm Reborn

Their adventures beginning in earnest, Adya struggled to adapt to life as a 'true' adventurer for some time. They did their best, throwing themself into each task with the same optimism that had earned them affection within their guild.It wasn't until they met Minfilia that things began to settle, internally, for Adya. Much like those in their former tribe, Minfilia seemed to understand what they were trying to communicate, and began ending her sentences with unconnected words that she saw they enjoyed saying (most notably: Gobbue)
